If you’ve stayed at Templeton Place recently, you may have noticed the stylish radios in your suite, the new Ruark R1. We spoke to Richard McKinney at Ruark Radios for a brief insight into this multi award winning British brand.
A family owned British company, Ruark have been making world-class loudspeakers for over thirty years. However, since 2006 they have designed and created a new generation of perfectly formed music systems. The original R1, which started the story, was described by Tatler magazine as ‘the most beautiful radio in the world’. It was also awarded the title ‘Aston Martin of radios’ in a Sunday Telegraph review. Moreover, with the third generation R1, these statements apply as much today, if not more so.
Elegant and beautifully simple, with class leading sound, the R1 is truly amazing. The ‘Rotodial’ control is wonderfully intuitive and this, combined with the latest technology OLED display is a winning combination, providing a control interface which is crystal clear whilst allowing viewing at any angle. The award winning sound is there via DAB, FM and DAB+, but this little beauty has the addition of built-in Bluetooth so you can stream to your heart’s content from any Bluetooth enabled device whilst also showing Track and Artist data. The addition of a USB charge port which will charge most smartphones, together with the luxury of a comprehensive dual alarm makes your wake up call, during your stay at Templeton Place, completely hassle free.
With its wonderfully tactile cabinet, handcrafted from wood materials, which are known to give the best sound quality, the R1 not only looks fantastic but feels warm and natural to the touch. On the rear panel you’ll find a headphone output and switchable auxiliary input allowing for other audio devices to be connected and enjoyed.
So please feel free to use the R1 in all its Bluetooth streaming, stunning sound, multi award winning glory. We know you’re going to love it!
