Going in the winter you can enjoy the top pick of a whole range of fresh new stock, from vintage jumpers to designer jackets. 4. Theatre Royal

For your dose of evening entertainment, the Theatre Royal consistently offers an immense spread of comedy, drama and music at this time of year. 5. Booth Museum of Natural History

Located slightly outside of the city centre, the Booth Museum of Natural History is ideal for all ages – and completely free. This is a great one for families, as kids can enjoy the regular art activities and opportunities to handle some of the finest ancient artefacts that the natural world has to offer. Alternatively, strolling around and exploring the butterfly and fossil collections can be just as absorbing.
