Micklegate by Supercity Aparthotels is proud to introduce a contemporary art exhibition in partnership with PickArt, Kinetic AI, and York Creatives.
Located within the aparthotel’s lobby, the exhibition showcases works by five York-based artists alongside one guest artist, adding a vibrant showcase of local creativity to the guest arrival experience. Every artwork forms part of the guest experience and is available to purchase via QR codes from PickArt, making it easy to discover and support local artists.
The exhibition is further enhanced by innovative installations from Kinetic AI, exploring how technology can transform the way art is experienced and discovered.
The artists – Donna Maria Taylor, Kareem Baqai, Rae George, Timothy Marvell, and Ufy – bring mixed media drawings of York’s landmarks, bold constructivist canvases, expressive floral paintings, a video artwork accessible via a hand-painted QR code on the wall, and surreal portraiture with psychological depth. Joining them is one guest artist, Pavel Kir, an early supporter of PickArt.
